Spider veins, medically known as telangiectasia or venulectasias, are small, dilated blood vessels that appear close to the surface of the skin, resembling spider webs or tree branches. They are typically red, blue, or purple in colour and are most commonly found on the legs, face, and chest. Spider veins are usually harmless, but they can cause cosmetic concerns and, in some cases, may be associated with underlying venous insufficiency.
